Alternate Schedules

Alternate schedules are implemented when weather conditions or serious service disruptions do not allow for operation of regularly scheduled service. Public notice of the implementation of these alternative schedules will be posted on this website and distributed to major media outlets.

Below are the alternate schedules that Metra is using in response to lower ridership due to the coronavirus. On lines with weekend service, Metra is operating Sunday schedules on both Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday service on the SouthWest Service and on the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric Line will be suspended until further notice.

Due to midday/late night track maintenance, certain trains may be delayed 5 to 10 minutes to get through workzones. For details on upcoming construction projects, please click here.

Due to major construction work taking place on BNSF Thursday 9/17 through Sunday 9/20, further construction delays are expected than usual midday maintenance.     Passengers are encouraged to listen for platform annoucements as inbound trains may stop on different tracks.   On Saturday and Sunday, the last trains in/out (2028/2029) will not operate due to this construction.   Please click here to view the schedule for these dates, or here for more details about this construction.
