Metra’s Asset Inventory is a database detailing the service/installation date, original cost, replacement value, useful life and an assessment of the current physical condition of each asset owned by Metra. The information in the inventory is used to support asset life cycle management and strategic capital decision-making at Metra and feeds into reports the Regional Transportation Authority prepares to assess the condition of existing capital assets of the regional transit system.
