Metra trains are operating on alternate weekday and weekend schedules posted here, with no weekend service on the North Central Service, Southwest Service, Heritage Corridor and the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric Line. Construction Notices

*Some of the below construction schedules are applied to the "Alternate Schedules" that are currently in effect due to the coronavirus.    The below dates indicate the duration of construction projects, NOT how long Metra intends to keep the alternate schedules in effect.  Please monitor alerts and check metrarail.com or the ventra app for service updates.  

 

        To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

 

Metra Electric Line: See below for effective construction dates

September 21 through March 1: Weekday and Weekend construction taking place at Homewood for Amtrak station rehab.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

 

Milwaukee District North Line: See below for effective construction dates

October 14 through December 4: Weekday track maintenance taking place between Lake Forest and Libertyville. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

December 5 through December 6: Weekend track maintenance taking place between Lake Forest and Libertyville. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

 

Milwaukee District West Line: See below for effective construction dates

August 29 through December 11: Weekday and weekend construction, track work near Franklin Park. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

 

Union Pacific North Line: See below for effective construction dates

December 5 through December 6: Weekend track maintenance between Highland Park and Lake Bluff. Trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

December 7 through December 18: Weekday track maintenance between Highland Park and Lake Bluff. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.
