Construction Notices

BNSF

Beginning August 14 and continuing through October 13, a construction schedule will be in effect. Trains 1204 through 1370 may be delayed up to 5 minutes due to construction near Union Station. Please see the construction schedule here.

Beginning August 26 and continuing through October 15, a construction schedule will be in effect. Trains may be delayed up to 10 minutes due to track work near Naperville (8/26 - 9/17) and Cicero (9/23 - 10/15). NOTE: THIS WORK WILL NOT TAKE PLACE 9/23 & 9/24. THE REGULAR SCHEDULE WILL BE IN EFFECT. Please see the construction schedule here.

Metra Electric

Due to a tie replacement project throughout the line, certain trains may be delayed through October. Please the weekday construction schedule here and the weekend of 9/23 & 9/24 schedule here
Due to night construction at the Calumet station, a construction schedule will be in effect from September 11 through September 24. Certain trains may be subject to delays of up to 10 minutes. On Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 the University Park station will be closed due to necessary track construction. Trains will not serve the University Park station on September 30 and October 1. Customers are encouraged to use the Richton Park station instead on those days. Please see the schedule here.

Milwaukee District North

Beginning September 9 and continuing through October 1, a construction schedule will be in effect on weekends. Certain trains may be delayed up to 10 minutes due to necessary bridge maintenance south of Forest Glen. Please see the construction schedule here.
Due to planned track work, the last outbound train of the night on Saturday, September 23rd(#2627, departs Union Station at 12:25 a.m. Sunday morning) will require passengers to transfer to a provided bus shuttle from Lake Forest to Libertyville. Passengers will then transfer to a train waiting at Libertyville, and that train will continue its scheduled trip to Fox Lake. Please allow for extra travel time. The schedule is here.

Milwaukee District West

Beginning September 9 and continuing through October 1, a construction schedule will be in effect on weekends. Certain trains may be delayed up to 10 minutes due to necessary bridge maintenance east of Cicero. Please see the construction schedule here.

Rock Island

From Saturday, September 23 through Sunday, September 24, a construction schedule will be in effect for some weekend trains. Certain trains may be delayed up to 10 minutes due to switch work near New Lenox. Please see the construction schedule here.

Union Pacific North

Beginning September 5 and continuing through September 29, a weekday construction schedule will be in effect. Shaded trains may be delayed up to 10 minutes due to single tracking caused by tie replacement. Please see the schedule here.
Beginning September 16 and continuing through October 1, a weekend construction schedule will be in effect due to tie replacement and welding. Please see the 9/16 through 9/17 schedule here. The 9/23 through 10/1 schedule can be found here. Please note construction was canceled for the weekend of 9/9 & 9/10 and will begin on the weekend of 9/16.

Union Pacific Northwest

Beginning September 11 and continuing through September 22, a weekday construction schedule will be in effect due to the grade crossing renewal of Baldwin Road in Palatine. Please see the construction schedule here.

Beginning September 5 and continuing through September 29, a weekday construction schedule will be in effect due to switch maintenance throughout the line. Please see the schedule here.
