Elimination of Ticket-by-Internet program

Due to declining internet ticket sales, Metra is eliminating the Ticket-by-Internet program – which includes recurring orders and one-time sales of Monthly Passes and 10-Ride Tickets on its website. The last day to purchase a Monthly Pass (July) via this program will be June 20 and the last day to purchase a 10-Ride Ticket will be June 30. This action is part of a continuing effort by Metra to identify ways to reduce expenses. Please see alternate purchasing options here.

Thomas Farmer

Thomas Farmer has been Metra’s CFO since November 2011. He oversees Metra’s accounting, finance, budget, grant management, contract management and information systems teams. In this role, Mr. Farmer is responsible for creating and managing a set of financial systems which is fully integrated and responsive to the needs of internal and external customers.

Mr. Farmer brings finance, accounting and IT experience from several well respected corporations such as the Ford Motor Company and Precision Castparts. With a broad variety of past successes, he brings experience, vision, direction, best practices and leadership to the Metra team.

Mr. Farmer was born in Chicago and has lived in northeast Illinois most of his life. He earned BA and MBA degrees from Michigan State University. He has over two decades of experience in Accounting and Finance, most of it at the Controller and CFO level, with several large corporations.
