Construction Notices

*Some of the below construction schedules are applied to the "Alternate Schedules" that are currently in effect due to the coronavirus.    The below dates indicate the duration of construction projects, NOT how long Metra intends to keep the alternate schedules in effect.  Please monitor alerts and check our homepage or the Ventra app for service updates.

        To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line. 

 

Metra Electric Line: See below for effective construction dates

September 21, 2020 through March 6, 2022: Weekday and Weekend construction taking place at Homewood for Amtrak station rehab.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

May 17 through May 21: Weekday track maintenance will be in effect. Evening Inbound trains 142 - 150 with the helmet logo may experience delays up to 10 minutes while passing through the work zone. 

Milwaukee District North: See below for effective construction dates

May 8 through May 21: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Grayland station.  Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

May 17 through May 23: Weekday and weekend construction taking place near Fox Lake for a crossing renewal at Sayton Rd. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Milwaukee District West: See below for effective construction dates

March 29 through June 27: Weekday and weekend construction taking place between River Grove and Franklin Park. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.

Rock Island Line: See below for effective construction dates

May 14 through May 21: Weekday construction taking place between Joliet and Mokena. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 5 minutes

Union Pacific North: See below for effective construction dates

April 9 through TBD (ONLY train 336): Train 336 may be subject to a delay up to 10 minutes while passing through Main St. to Clybourn until further notice. 

May 15 through May 28: Weekday and weekend track construction taking place near Waukegan depot. Midday trains with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed 10 minutes.
