Alternate Schedules

Alternate schedules are implemented when weather conditions or serious service disruptions do not allow for operation of regularly scheduled service. Public notice of the implementation of these alternative schedules will be posted on this website and distributed to major media outlets.

Below are the alternate schedules that Metra is using in response to lower ridership due to the coronavirus. On lines with weekend service, Metra is operating Sunday schedules on both Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday service on the SouthWest Service is supended until further notice, and, starting July 4, Saturday service on the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric Line will be suspended until further notice.

Due to midday/late night track maintenance on the busier lines, certain trains may be delayed up to 10 minutes to get through workzones.   For details on upcoming construction projects, please click here.
