Road crossing work to affect Milwaukee North Line

(August 10, 2018) -

Metra will bus passengers on the last outbound Milwaukee District North Line train Saturday night between Lake Forest and Libertyville due to a road crossing replacement project.

Customers on board Train 2627, which departs Chicago Union Station at 12:25 a.m., will detrain at the Lake Forest Station and transfer to a Pace bus. The bus will take riders to the Libertyville Station, where they will board another train to complete the trip to Fox Lake. Customers traveling beyond Libertyville should allow for extra travel time.

The bus service is necessary to allow for Metra workers to replace the St. Mary’s Road crossing in Libertyville. The work is being completed during the overnight hours to minimize the disruption to passengers.
