For the second year in a row, Metra is partnering with NBC 5 Chicago in its Making A Difference Coat Drive at all five downtown Metra stations and its headquarters lobby at 547 West Jackson. Metra’s collection dates are December 15-17.
Last year Metra collected 23 50-gallon bags of new and gently used coats. Collection bins will again be located near ticket agents at all five downtown Chicago locations: Chicago Union Station, Ogilvie Center, Millennium Station, LaSalle Station and Van Buren Station.
“We are eager to partner with NBC 5 in supporting the community and helping families in need,” said Metra Executive Director/ CEO Donald Orseno. “This is our second year doing this drive and our riders have been extremely generous and supportive of this effort.”
Proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army. Other partners in this effort include: Telemundo, Comcast, Belfor and Get Covered Illinois.
