Metra to host Toy Drive

(December 5, 2018) -

Metra again will partner with the U.S Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation for a holiday toy drive at all five downtown Chicago Metra stations on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

New and unwrapped toys or money will be collected by Marines and Metra employees at Chicago Union Station, Ogilvie Transportation Center, Millennium Station, Van Buren Street and LaSalle Street. All donations will be given directly to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation for distribution to those in need.

This is the seventh time Metra and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys of Toys Foundation have teamed up to collect toys. Last year, Metra customers donated more than 3,350 toys and more than $11,000.

“Year after year, Metra customers have shown how willing they are to help make the holidays brighter for the community and children in need,” said Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski. “I’d like to thank them in advance for their generous donations to this effort.”
