Alternate Service Schedules
First Published - 03/19/2020 - 11:56AM

Metra will begin operating an alternate weekday schedule on Monday, March 23, to adjust for the reduced number of riders due to school closures, work-from-home mandates and other consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. The alternate schedules can be viewed here. There will be changes for every line except the Heritage Corridor, which will operate its normal schedule. Where we are able to, we will maintain the number of cars on trains to allow for social distancing. On a line-by-line basis, Metra is monitoring ridership and may further reduce service to meet the ridership demands. The reduced schedules will remain in effect until health officials deem the crisis has passed and/or ridership begins to return to normal. Metra will operate on regular weekend schedules. Please use the Ventra app to purchase tickets. The app can be downloaded free from the App Store or Google Play.

Attention Fairview Ave. & Hanover Park Commuters

(May 27, 2010) -

Fairview Avenue Commuters

Beginning June 1, 2010 And continuing through and including June 7, 2010. This work will be completed on June 8, 2010.

Grade Crossing Repairs

Grade crossing repairs will begin at Fairview Avenue on June 1, 2010.  This will cause Fairview Avenue road crossing to close which will severely impact access to the south commuter parking lot in the afternoon when passengers unload on the north platform.  It is strongly recommended that you board your train from an alternate station during this project.  The Westmont station is located at 1 West Quincy Street, near the intersection of Quincy and Cass Avenue.  The Main Street station is located at 5001 Main Street, near the intersection of Main Street and Burlington Avenue.
Maple Avenue is located west of the Fairview Avenue station and is the only designated crossing to access the south parking lot during your afternoon commute.   For your safety, do not enter the construction zone or cross the tracks at an unauthorized location.
Metra and the BNSF apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hanover Park Commuters

Beginning Wednesday, June 2, 2010 & Continuing for approximately 5 months
Work will begin on the construction of new inbound and outbound platforms.  During this project the platforms will be closed off in sections.
The first phase of construction includes the closure of the eastern half of the outbound (north) platform.  The pedestrian crossing located east of the depot will temporarily be closed.  Commuters must board and exit trains from the western half of the outbound platform.  Sections of each platform will be taken out of service with each phase of this project.
For your safety, do not walk around barricaded sections of the platform and use caution near the work area.  Please allow yourself extra time to reach your boarding platform safely.
The train station and ticket agent will remain open during construction.
