Metra will begin work on Saturday, July 14 to resurface the commuter parking lot at the Arlington Park Station on the Union Pacific Northwest Line.
From Saturday, July 14 through Sunday, July 15, the west side of the station parking lot will be closed while workers grind down the existing asphalt, fill and patch the surface and then resurface, seal and restripe the lot. The lot will reopen to commuters on Monday, July 16. The following weekend (July 21-22), workers will perform the same work to resurface the east side of the lot and reopen it for commuter use on Monday, July 23.
The Arlington Park Station parking lot has 1,031 spaces available for daily parking and currently operates at 95 percent capacity, with more than 980 vehicles using it on a typical weekday. Nearly 1,700 commuters board trains at Arlington Park each weekday.
