EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
SENIOR SIGNAL ENGINEER
General Responsibilities:
- This position provides signal engineering services for the analysis, planning, specifying and design of signal systems and equipment.
- Checks and designs circuit prints for capital improvements (Federal Transit Administration; Illinois Department of Transportation).
- Reviews signal system specifications from signal consultants to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Monitors field construction work for capital improvements (Federal Transit Administration; Illinois Department of Transportation).
- Checks and designs signal circuits for highway crossing warning systems.
- Develops specifications for signal systems.
- Investigates and makes recommendations on any reports of malfunctions of signal systems or equipment.
- Reviews and verifies accuracy and completeness of technical manual
- Responsible for the safety objectives, goals and program of the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable safety rules and regulations. Promotes safe work practices as well as maintains and fosters a safe work environment.
- May be responsible for all other duties and /or responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
- Bachelor=s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of signal design and construction experience.
- Must possess thorough knowledge of signal system operations and signal design principles.
- Must possess the ability to knowledgeably apply rules and regulations of the Federal Railroad Administration, State of Illinois and AREMA.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver=s license.
