Special Information - Chicago Festivals and Events
The festivals and celebrations in Grant Park and the Lakefront bring many additional passengers to our trains. In the past, this has included some who were prone to excessive revelry.
To prevent disorderly conduct, alcoholic beverages and glass containers are banned on certain days. Dates and restrictions are listed. Anyone who is visibly inebriated will not be permitted onboard and anyone causing a disturbance will be removed from the train and subject to arrest.
Unruly passengers will not be tolerated.
Metra prides itself in providing safe and efficient transportation. To that end, extra Metra police officers plus off-duty municipal police will patrol downtown stations and trains.
Thank you for your cooperation and choosing Metra for your travel needs.
