Pursuant to the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act, 5 ILCS 430/5-10, all employees of Metra are required to complete ethics training. This training is intended to educate all employees regarding issues of ethics and integrity and specifically about laws and policies that govern their conduct while working for Metra. All Current Employees must complete this training by August 1, 2011. All New employees must complete this training within 30 days of their Hire Date.
Failure to do so is a violation of State law for which you can be disciplined by Metra, including discharge. In addition, Metra will report employees who fail to complete the training and return the acknowledgement form to the Illinois Office of Executive Inspector General, who may seek to have the Illinois Executive Ethics Commission, levy an administrative fine against an employee of up to $5,000, or order employee discipline, including discharge.
