Let Metra Drive You to the PGA Championship
Chicago, Wednesday, August 9, 2006 - The PGA Championship is returning to the Medinah Country Club and so will the crowds to witness one of professional golf's premier events. With such a crowded field, Metra can be your winning strategy to get to the course for the 88th PGA Championship title.
Metra's Milwaukee West Line provides convenient service to the Medinah station. From there, you simply walk to free shuttle buses just south of the tracks for a three-minute ride to the main spectator gate.
Official practice rounds for the 88th PGA Championship begin Monday August 14, while the 72-hole tournament begins Thursday, August 17 and continues through Sunday, August 20.
Whether you live in a community along the Milwaukee West Line, plan to travel from the city or want to drive and "park-n-ride", Metra is the way to the PGA. On weekdays, limited daily parking is available at rail stations but on Championship weekend, plenty of parking will be available at Milwaukee West Line rail stations. Metra's $5 weekend pass, which is good for unlimited rides on both Saturday and Sunday, makes for an even sweeter deal.
For complete schedule, fare and station information, call Metra Passenger Services at (312) 322-6777 during business hours, the RTA Travel Information Center at (312) 836-7000 during evenings and weekends, or visit www.metrarail.com.
