Metra Adds Extra Train for Arlington Million
Chicago, Aug. 8 - Racing fans planning to attend this Saturday's Arlington Million will have one more option to get back home to the city. Metra is adding one additional inbound to accommodate the crowds expected for one of horse racing's premier events.
Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line service will operate an extra inbound train scheduled to depart from Arlington Park at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 12. This is in addition to the regularly scheduled inbound trains departing Arlington Park at 4:29 p.m. and 6:29 p.m.
Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line is extremely convenient for racing fans living on the city's North side or in the northwest suburbs as the Arlington Park station is located just outside the track gates.
Trains leave from Metra's Ogilvie Transportation Center located at Canal and Madison streets in downtown Chicago. Connections between the Union Pacific Northwest and North lines can be made downtown or at Clybourn; CTA rapid transit and select CTA bus routes also provide connections to the Union Pacific Northwest Line at the Jefferson Park Metra station.
For schedule information, call Metra Passenger Services, 312-322-6777, during business hours, visit www.metrarail.com, or call the RTA Travel Information Center at 836-7000.
