Ride to Ravinia's front door

Chicago, June 1, 2006 - Concerts will begin and end on a high note for music buffs who take advantage of Metra's seasonal rail service to and from Ravinia Park this summer.

Those planning to attend any of the concerts at the 2006 Ravinia Festival, which continues through September 12, can board the Union Pacific North's "Ravinia Park Special" from Chicago's Ogilvie Transportation Center at Madison and Canal Streets Tuesday through Sunday to reach the world-renowned park. Special service is not available on Mondays except for July 3, July 10 and September 4. Additionally, the "Ravinia Special" will not operate on the following Sundays: July 9, July 23, July 30 and August 20.

The "special train" departs Chicago at 5:50 p.m. making stops to Central St.-Evanston, then travels non-stop to Ravinia Park for a 6:31 p.m. arrival. In addition, a special return train departs 15 minutes after the concert is over.

Discounted $5 "special event" tickets are sold on-board the train and at the downtown terminal. Pre-purchased tickets may also be used.
